Maupin is the gateway to the Deschutes River, and is the launching point for Share-A-Raft River Trips. Maupin sits in the center of a beautiful desert oasis complete with high-desert canyons, serene plateaus, lush desert wildlife, and 300 days of sun per year!

Hiking Trails & Wildlife

There are two trails along the Lower Deschutes for mountain biking and hiking. Both trails are relatively easy, but visitors should be prepared and carry plenty of water. During your raft trip or hike you may see wildlife that include deer, eagles, osprey, hawks, heron, water fowl, mink, otter, beaver and bear.
